DANIEL STINSON CPA PLLC
EFFECTIVE JAN 2026
CHARLOTTE, NC
This Privacy Policy explains how Daniel Stinson CPA PLLC ("we," "us," or "the firm") collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains information when you use this website, submit an inquiry, or access the client portal.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to respond to you and to deliver accounting services:
- Inquiry details — name, business name, email, phone, revenue range, entity type, and the description you provide through the contact form.
- Engagement records — once you become a client, the financial documents, tax data, and source records you share with us in the course of an engagement.
- Portal account data — your login email, an encrypted password credential, documents you upload, e-signature records, messages, and invoice or payment history.
- Technical data — basic, privacy-respecting analytics such as pages viewed, approximate region, and device type, used to keep the site working and improve it.
2. How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and determine whether we are a good fit.
- To provide tax, advisory, bookkeeping, and entity services under an engagement letter.
- To prepare and file returns and to authenticate you in the client portal.
- To send service communications related to your engagement.
- To meet our professional, legal, and regulatory obligations as a licensed CPA practice.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose information only: (a) to service providers who help us operate the firm and portal under confidentiality obligations; (b) to taxing authorities or other parties at your direction or with your consent, such as when filing a return; and (c) where required by law, subpoena, or professional standards.
4. Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and reputable hosting and portal providers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity.
5. Data retention
We retain engagement and tax records for the periods required by applicable law, professional standards, and our records-retention policy — generally at least seven years for tax-related records — after which we securely dispose of them. Inquiry messages from prospective clients are kept only as long as needed to follow up.
6. Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, subject to records we are required to retain. You can also export your portal data at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
7. Children
This site and the portal are intended for business owners and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date, and where appropriate we will notify clients directly.
